i want this song with a slideshow of my life at my funeral…
Watch them all if you can. It was a great series. Out of 7 seasons there’s probably 8 episodes or so I didn’t care for. The rest are worth watching. Off the top of my head: Where No One Has Gone Before, Q Who, Peak Performance, Who Watches the Watchers, Deja Q, Yesterday’s Enterprise, Family, The Game, I Borg, Tapestry, Birthright 1&2, All Good Things. And if you like noir: The Big Goodbye, Elementary Dear Data.
@idiosyncrazy1980 This is really one of the best. But I also really like “Remember Me”, “Face of the Enemy” and “Ship in a Bottle”. Of course that is just off the top of my head. The entire run of the show is worth watching.
@Lilith1777 This is the only episode of STTNG I’ve ever seen (someone had recommanded it on a forum), which other ones would you advice which you consider in the same league ?

@MrAudacia Well, I’m certainly not as zealous as some. For example, the only time I’ve ever worn a uniform was for Halloween (Riker). I do play the games, i.e. STO and I watch TNG a great deal. And while I’ve watched TNG as a child, I only recently embraced my fandom, about three years ago.

@Geshien are you a big treky?
Such a beautiful episode and song. So many enduring themes in one story: loss, regret, family, memory, community, love. This is screenwriting at its best.
@ragingmonkey64 : Very cool, “Famliy” and “The Inner Light” are also my two favorite episodes
… next to “Deja Q”
Just one of the best episodes combined with amazing music…. Perfect!!!!
very sad piece of music, a tearjerker episode and a must watch for anyone!.
This peace brings me to tears sometimes, its a piece i wanted to use for one of my star trek vids, but I’ll wait for a right video.
This episode still makes me teary-eyed.
i love this episode, this episode really goes straight through the heart. i’m sure ill be watching this episode and many other fantastic startrek episodes through out my life time.
@paradoxdreamer5 I am so so so so sorry paradox. I am 41, and have never met my father. At least you had a chance to know him, and remember him. Like you, there are many reasons why I love this song as well.
“So keep at your work, this faith and love, exactly as I set it out for you. It’s as sound as the day you first heard it. Guard this precious thing placed in your custody by the Holy Spirit who works in us.” -2 Timothy 1:13-14
This is a powerful episode, and that’s putting it mildly. To think that, there was a culture which was wiped out over a thousand years ago, and all that remains of it, is a memory that Picard holds of a lifetime, and a flute. It makes me wonder, “what will become of us?” How will we be remembered? That is something, I think, that is more terrifying to us humans than anything… being forgotten. What’s really on the voyager probes, that we’ve sent out into the vast “unknown” of the Universe?
This episode is almost even better when you think about it alongside “Family” where Picard almost wanted to leave starfleet and live a normal life. He knew that he had to stay in, but this shows that he really would have been truly happy and content. It makes the whole situation even more tragic. Simply a perfect episode!
This is one of those Trek Episodes that shows just WHY Star Trek is one of the greatest of all the Sci-Fi shows ever.
great episode and video. I can watch it hundred times :*)
This and ‘The Visitor’ from DS9 are the most emotional and meaningful episodes of Star Trek ever.
@carwcc1234 It is similar but definitely not the same song!
@Lilith1777 Implying Best TV is not Jersey Shore. You troll.
@DADDY2568 watch Star Trek TNG “The Inner Light” and find out, I don’t think they ever say what it’s called. Probably just “The Inner Light” not sure if it’s an orginal score or not though.
