Question–: How far over the watts limit can you go with desk lamps?
I not long ago just purchased a desk lamp and place in a CFL bulb of 13 watts. Soon after performing this, I noticed the box saying to use an 11 watt max for CFL bulbs. Do I will need to run above to the shop and get another bulb, or am I most likely fine?
Thanks all for your responses. To answer Guru’s question, it takes each normal and CFL. It says the max for normal is 40 watts and the max for CFL is 11.

I would say it is OK for a even though!
But your question is not clear as to does-it use a regular lamp and you put a CFL?
Or if it is a lamp designed for CFL?
If it is a typical fixture there is no problem!
