The answer is not how large the room is, but how tall is the ceiling. If it is a regular eight foot ceiling, then a 30″ chandelier will be hanging about five feet off the floor. Not enough room to put a table under it!

should fit pretty good… with an 11 ft ceiling you would still have plenty of room- even if it wasn’t over a table… no one would be hitting their heads on it. and 17” w- really isn’t very wide. Depending on your decor it may/maynot look okay. Check out some ads in mags for decorating… or even checkout some websites and see if the kind of chandelier is you are considering is in a simular room. You can just about make anything work if you really love that chandelier!
