Q&A–: Proper use of tandem breakers?
We are remodeling a 6000 sqft house and I have a 200 amp panel and a 100 amp sub panel. Both panels are full with no breakers left and I have 2 circuits left to connect. I am thinking of taking out a single pole 15 amp breaker and replacing it with a 15 amp tandem and then joining the two circuits on one side of the tandem and a single circuit on the other side of the tandem. The 3 circuits I’m talking about: 1.) family room outlets 2.) kitchen island lights 3.) 3 outdoor soffit lights.
My specific issue is, when the inspector does the final occupancy inspection, are the full panels and then the tandem breaker going to raise a red flag with the inspection? I did a load calculation on the house and the panels are right at their ampacity limit but do inspectors look that closely at this type of thing?

Kitchen Island Lighting–: Painting on frosted glass lamp shades?
I have frosted glass shades on pendant lights over my kitchen island that are peeling. I would like to remove the peeling finish, but don’t know what is best to use? Also, I would then like to use a glass paint to give them a new look, but am worried about the heat of the bulb reacting with the paint. Any suggestions?
